During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Litan Town, a county town located in the middle reaches of the Litan River, gradually developed into an important market in the adjacent counties of Jiangxi and Fujian provinces relying on the advantages of water transportation. It concentrated on the wholesale and retail of commodities, bulk trading and various characteristic handicraft workshops. In the historical period, the cultural street also attracted many wealthy businessmen to settle here, and gradually formed a large-scale arcade style to shade the sun and rain for both buyers and sel Commercial Street, known as "Shili Long Street" in Lichuan.
